‘People stand in the market for hours’

According to a report by Pakistan’s news agency Express Tribune, thousands of people stand in the market for hours every day for discounted flour bags. At present, the prices of flour are skyrocketing here. If reports are to be believed, the price of one kg flour in Karachi is Rs 160, whereas in Islamabad and Peshawar, a 10 kg bag of flour is being sold for Rs 1,500 per kg.

On the one hand, where wheat has run out in Pakistan, on the other hand, in many areas the public has become furious due to hunger and is ready to go to any extent to get flour. According to media reports, a stampede broke out in Mirpurkhas district of Sindh, in which one person died. According to the news, 10 kg flour was being sold there on subsidy, during which a 40-year-old laborer died after falling on the road in an uproar.
