Ukraine tightened its stance on Tuesday, saying talks with Russia are possible only if it gives up occupation of all Ukrainian territories. “We have consistently proposed such talks, but Russia has responded with new attacks, bombings and blackmail,” Zelensky said. Negotiations can be resumed subject to conditions such as establishment of provincial integrity, respect of the United Nations Charter, indemnity of war, punishment for war criminals and guarantees that this will not happen again. Zelensky had earlier said that talks could not take place under Vladimir Putin as President of Russia. Zelensky’s adviser Mikhailo Podolyak said last day: “We don’t shy away from peace talks, but we don’t want to have talks with Putin that he himself is not willing to have.”

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia was open to talks, but Kyiv was refusing. Zelensky’s spokesman told the public broadcaster that the president could virtually attend the G20 summit. Zelensky said last week that Putin would not attend the November 15-16 summit in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, North Korea has made it clear that it has never and does not intend to do arms trade with Russia. The US had recently alleged that North Korea is preparing to provide weapons to Russia for the Ukraine war.

Russian soldiers accused of capturing and looting houses in Kherson
