Pakistan Army Chief: Who will be the next army chief of Pakistan? After General Qamar Javed Bajwa

Imran Khan believes that he will win if new polls are conducted and this will prevent his opponents from appointing a flexible army chief. They allege that the government wants to make an army chief of its choice so that it can cover up its corruption.

The news of the selection of the new army chief remains in the headlines in Pakistan at this time, not the floods. According to Islam Khabar, COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa is going to retire in November 2022. Now all eyes are on who will be the next army chief in Pakistan.

Imran Khan had demanded a snap poll

PTI chief and former PM Imran Khan recently said that a fresh election should be held in October so that political opponents can’t choose the successor of the current army chief General Bajwa. According to the report of Islam Khabar, Imran Khan believes that he will win if new polls are conducted and this will prevent his opponents from appointing a flexible army chief. They allege that the government wants to make an army chief of its choice, so that it can cover up its corruption.

What does Imran Khan want after all?

Imran Khan would like to choose Bajwa’s successor for the next army chief of Pakistan. Imran wanted General Faiz Hameed to continue as the ISI chief, but the army chief turned down the suggestion. Faiz Hameed is one of the contenders to replace Bajwa in November. According to the Islam Khabar report, if the elections are announced today, then the electoral process will take at least six weeks and after that it may also take time for the new government to take charge.

Imran khan in contact with army

Imran Khan’s anger is against the army that they snatched the seat of power from them last year after bringing them to power in 2018. However, Imran Khan has maintained his ties with the army. According to reports, he is in direct contact with the senior leadership of the ISI and the Army. According to Islam Khabar, elections in Pakistan will be held in March 2023, four months ahead of schedule. It is being speculated that the formal announcement of the elections will be made in January 2023.
