Asif said journalists had gathered for an award ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Tabian Farhang Center in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of Balkh province, when the explosion occurred. In which one person died on the spot, while five people were also injured.

Let us inform that there was a bomb blast in Mazar-i-Sharif two days back as well. In which provincial governor Daud Mujmal and two others were killed, while four were also injured.

A journalist was also injured in the bomb blast.

The identities of those killed in today’s explosion in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif were not immediately known, but a journalist was among the five injured. Najeeb Faryad, a reporter for Aryana News television station, was among those injured in the attack. He said that he felt something hit him in the back after which he fell on the ground.

Taliban takeover has increased terrorist attacks

No one has yet claimed responsibility for today’s attack in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif, but the regional affiliate of the Islamic State group, known as Islamic State in Khorasan Province, is a major rival of the Taliban.

Today’s attack is being suspected on this group only. The militant group has increased its attacks in Afghanistan since the Taliban’s takeover of the country in August 2021. The terrorists’ targets include Taliban patrols and members of Afghanistan’s Shiite minority.
