Good news for Airtel and Jio users! Enjoy 5G at the cost of 4G, the company will offer affordable plans

PM Narendra Modi recently launched 5G in India. While Airtel started rolling out its 5G services in India, Jio will start its 5G services from Diwali this year. Let us know that both the operators will give affordable plans for 5G to the users.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched 5G services in India earlier this week. Shortly thereafter, Airtel rolled out its 5G services in India. On the other hand, if we talk about Jio, then the company will start rolling out its 5G services from Diwali this year. While both the companies have shared a timeline of the launch, they have not yet given any details about the price of their 5G plans in the country. Now, a new report has surfaced, in which it has been revealed that their price will be kept very low.

Jio plans will be cheap

According to new media reports, Jio will offer its 5G plan in India at an affordable price. A company executive told that Jio will continue to offer its 5G services in India at the ‘cheapest’ price. Like it did in the case of its 4G tariff plans.

Furthermore, customers will not need to upgrade to a new SIM card to access the 5G network and the upgrade will happen automatically. Whereas, subscribers with 5G enabled smartphones will get the option to upgrade to Jio’s 5G network. Customer’s devices or smartphones will automatically display Jio’s 5G network whenever a 5G upgrade is available.

Airtel will also give cheap 5G plan

As for Airtel, the company will not offer premium tariffs for its 5G plans in India as it will slow down the pace of adoption of 5G mobile technology in the country. The company said that 5G-enabled smartphones account for just eight to nine per cent of the Indian smartphone market and offering 5G plans at a more premium price would hinder upgradation.

For information, let us tell you that the first round of tariff hike took place around November-December last year, in which all the three telecom companies, i.e. Jio, Vi and Airtel increased the prices of their prepaid and postpaid tariff plans.
