T20WC 2022: two&times champs west Indies knock out of T20 World Cup to reach super 12

T20 World Cup 2022 Hardly anyone would have thought that this time it happened. West Indies, who were two-time T20 World Cup champions, could not qualify for the T20 World Cup 2022 and were eliminated in the first round itself.

The West Indies cricket team lost their last match of the first round to Ireland by 9 wickets. With this defeat, the West Indies cricket team was knocked out of the T20 World Cup 2022 and could not qualify for the Super 12. West Indies played three matches in the first round, out of which they won only one match, while their journey ended with the T20 World Cup after losing two matches. This time the Caribbean team disappointed under the captaincy of Nicholas Pooran.

West Indies out of T20 World Cup 2022

The West Indies team has been the T20 World Cup champion twice, but this time the performance of this team was very low. West Indies won the T20 World Cup title for the first time in the year 2012 by defeating Sri Lanka, while in the year 2016, this team again achieved the distinction of becoming champions by defeating England in the final for the second time. This happened for the first time in T20 World Cup history when West Indies team could not qualify for this tournament.

Talking about Group B in the first round matches of the World Cup 2022, Ireland’s team has come first with 4 points and it has been decided to reach the Super 12. On the other hand, whichever team wins the match between Scotland and Zimbabwe, it will reach the Super 12, while the West Indies team is fourth in their group with 2 points in the points table and it is impossible to reach the Super 12. In such a situation, now the Caribbean team is out of the World Cup. Let us tell you that West Indies scored 146 for 5 in 20 overs in their third match of the first round, but Ireland scored 150 runs in 17.3 overs on the basis of Paul Starling’s unbeaten 66 for one wicket.
