MS Dhoni: Dhoni can play a big role in Indian T20 cricket, BCCI is preparing!

MS Dhoni: Dhoni has been the most successful captain of Team India and now BCCI wants to use his cricketing experience to make the Indian team even better. It is believed that Dhoni can be given an important role in the T20 setup.

After failing once again in the ICC event, the Indian Cricket Board i.e. BCCI seems ready to knock on the door of the former player who made this country the World Champion twice (2007, 2011). After the failure of the Indian team in the T20 World Cup 2022 to be held in Australia, the BCCI now wants to assign a big responsibility to MS Dhoni in the Indian T20 setup and is ready to send SOS for this. According to BCCI sources, the board is considering calling Dhoni for a permanent role in Indian cricket.

According to a report in The Telegraph, the BCCI feels that the burden of managing all three formats is too heavy for head coach Rahul Dravid. This is the reason why BCCI is also considering splitting the coaching roles. The board wants to make maximum use of his cricketing knowledge to include Dhoni in the T20 format and raise the level of the Indian cricket team. According to the report, the issue will be discussed during the Apex Council meeting later this month. If all goes well, Dhoni may be appointed as the director of cricket for the T20 setup.

Let us tell you that Dhoni was associated with the Indian team in T20 World Cup 2021 as well, but the team was eliminated from the group stage in this tournament itself. However, BCCI feels that if Dhoni is associated with great responsibility, then definitely the Indian T20 team will be of great benefit. The Telegraph report claimed that Dhoni may retire from IPL even after 2023 and in such a situation, the BCCI is very much eager to use his experience and technical skills in the right way.
