IND vs BAN 1st Test: Shreyas Iyer beat Suryakumar Yadav, made a new record


Shreyas Iyer scored an unbeaten 82 on the opening day of the first Test at the Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Wednesday. Due to this innings, Iyer has scored 1489 runs in 38 innings of all formats in 2022.

Shreyas Iyer currently surpasses Suryakumar Yadav to become India’s highest run-scorer across all formats. Shreyas did this feat in the first Test match of the ongoing two-Test series against Bangladesh. Suryakumar, who was in excellent form this year, has been overtaken by Iyer.

Virat Kohli in third place

Whereas Virat Kohli has scored a total of 1304 runs in 39 innings with a high score of 122 not out. He is third in the list. In fourth place is wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who has scored 1278 runs in 41 innings. This also includes Pant’s 146 high score. Rohit Sharma has scored 995 runs in 40 innings. He is at the fifth position.

India had started poorly

By the end of the first day’s play, India has scored 278 runs at the loss of 6 wickets. Cheteshwar Pujara and Shreyas played well after two quick wickets fell. Pujara played an inning of 90 runs before getting out. Rishabh Pant played a quick inning of 46 runs. Virat Kohli disappointed. He got out after scoring one run.
